The two had permission to hunt small game, the District Prosecutor's Office in Silistra specified.
The shot was fired with a legally owned hunting rifle. There were also witnesses to the incident who were questioned.
The 47-year-old police officer will be charged with causing death by negligence. The punishment in such cases is from 1 to 6 years in prison, writes BNT.
