The life of a Syrian citizen is in danger after he was stabbed by a compatriot in Harmanli, BTA reported, referring to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Haskovo.
The report of an injured 24-year-old Syrian man was submitted yesterday, at 3:10 p.m., to the Regional Office by the local "Emergency". A scandal broke out between him and the person arrested for the attack in the area of the local market, which turned into a fight, in which the victim received a wound in the back area with a sharp object. After an examination, he was transported to a hospital in Plovdiv with a life-threatening condition. The attacker was detained for up to 24 hours in the pre-trial proceedings, the police added.
The last case of a Syrian citizen being injured in a beating in Harmanli was on January 12 of this year, when a 20-year-old suffered injuries. Residents of the city periodically organize protests against the local Registration and Reception Center (ROC) for migrants, demanding that it be closed or turned into a closed-type institution. The last rally against the ROC was on April 6 of this year
