They are 217 for the period from January to September. 359 are the fraud phone calls prevented.
The police specify that the damage for a year and a half is three and a half million BGN.
„One of the main features of phone scams is that they make a phone call, then pretend to be police officers, doctors, relatives, even utility workers – they present a very credible story and urgently ask for money, even sometimes they promise that they will return it, said Zlatka Padinkova, head of the “Frauds“ in DG "National Police", bTV broadcasts.
She urged us to follow the following maxim: “If they ask you for money over the phone, it is a phone scam”.
