Five men were detained by cyber police officers during specialized police operations to combat online sexual exploitation of children.
The operations were carried out across the country under the leadership of the relevant prosecutor's offices over the past 2 weeks.
The arrested men are between 25 and 43 years old. They were found to have committed criminal acts, some of which are punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Computer systems, laptops, flash drives and other data carriers containing a large amount of material depicting sexual abuse of children aged 2 months to 14 years of both sexes were seized from their homes.
During one of the special operations, a 30-year-old man was detained for using the Darkweb (“dark web“) to access a streaming platform for streaming multimedia files depicting sexual abuse of children for a fee. After creating an account on the illegal platform, its users had free access for “preview“ to over 50,000 videos with reduced quality and limited duration to one minute. To gain access to better quality, customers had to purchase separate subscriptions for cryptocurrencies or Litecoin addresses generated individually for each, cyber police found.
Two men were also arrested for using the network's resources to obtain and exchange files containing child sexual abuse.
A user of a restricted-access group created and administered in an encrypted online communicator for people sharing similar interests - sexual fantasies with underage boys - was detained.
Another identified sexual abuser used several fake identities on separate dating apps to offer sexual services with girls to "like-minded people" for a fee, the GDBOP reported.
