The person detained for the brutal murder of 18-year-old Magdalena Ruseva from Haskovo will not appeal the preventive measure "detention in custody" imposed on him by the District Court. Both he and his lawyer have insisted on permanent arrest, BNT reports.
The reason is the fear of self-defense after the tension and protests in the city that followed the revelation of Magdalena's murder. Her 17-year-old friend, with whom they studied together at the local business school, was arrested for the crime.
"I insisted, because I believe that in his personal defense, even for his relatives, and in defense of the relatives of the deceased, you know what happened last night. He regrets, he repents. He had feelings for this girl, they were friends. He said that she also responded to his feelings on the night in question. They drank a lot of alcohol, that's what everyone says. He categorically denies using any drugs. The results will show if they really took his blood for tests," said Lyubomir Gochev, the detainee's lawyer.
