The bloody murder in Burgas, which took place in the “Sarafovo“ neighborhood, took place after the funeral of the daughter of the 91-year-old former warden. In the midst of the heavy family drama, the ex-policeman shot his 69-year-old son-in-law with an illegal gun, then attempted suicide.
The heavy family drama took place around midnight in a property located in the “Lahana“ area at around 9 pm last night at the home of a 69-year-old Burgas resident and his 46-year-old son.
The Burgas resident's father-in-law - a 91-year-old Stara Zagora resident - came to Pomorie for the funeral of his daughter, who died of cancer.
After the woman's funeral, the 91-year-old man's relationship with his son-in-law (a furniture maker by profession) became strained, and during dinner, while the grandson went up to the second floor of the home, the Stara Zagora resident fired two shots into his son-in-law's head and back, Flagman writes.
Hearing the shots, the grandson returned to the room and reported the crime. He managed to take the gun from the hands of his grandfather, who attempted suicide.
The body of the 69-year-old man was taken for an autopsy to the "Forensic Medicine" department at the Burgas University Hospital, and the 91-year-old man was detained for up to 24 hours at the Pomorie Regional Police Department and officers from the "Criminal Police" and "Investigation" departments at the Burgas Regional Police Department and the Pomorie Regional Police Department are working with him.
The gun (brand "Browning", illegally owned) was seized during the inspection.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the Pomorie Regional Police Department.
