“You can buy unclaimed luggage from Sofia Airport for only 3.91 BGN.”
This is according to a message spread on social networks with the aim of extracting personal information. Users are invited to click on the published link, where they provide bank accounts and personal data, under the pretext of ordering a suitcase, which will be delivered to an address they specify.
The fraudsters present themselves as part of the Sofia Airport team and claim that a public sale is being held, as a large number of lost and forgotten suitcases have accumulated in the storage lockers.
They even promise the opportunity to return the order within 14 days!
They claim that the sale is for charitable purposes.
The fraudulent messages also include the following information for credibility: currently, there are rules in force according to which the airport has the right to destroy luggage that has not been claimed for more than 6 months.
They add that more additional explanations are available on the airport website, to which the link in question supposedly leads. link.
The capital airport issued an official position to “Trud News“: “Sofia Airport categorically does not sell suitcases. This is another scam that aims to extract personal data for financial abuse. We urge citizens to be careful, not to trust such messages and not to open specific links“
“Trud News“ urges all readers to be extremely careful when they are offered to click on links. They remind us of a similar scheme for stealing personal data aimed at extracting accounts, which appeared a month ago. It involves offering branded Italian bags with real prices from 5,000 leva to 20,000 leva at the same price of 3.91 leva when ordering on a phantom site.
