Sofia police found and seized 2.5 kg of fentanyl, 1,025 pellets of the same drug, over 123 grams of cocaine, about 300 grams of marijuana, as well as various amounts of money. Eight people were arrested, the police announced.

Five people were detained in a special operation by forensic experts from the Third Regional Police Department against drug distribution. About 2 kg of fentanyl, marijuana and crystals were found and seized.

The operation was planned in response to reports that drug addicts were gathering in the “Peter and Pavel“ park in the “Ilinden“ district and disturbing people living in the area. After conducting surveillance, law enforcement officers identified the dealers who were distributing the drugs in this part of Sofia. As part of the police actions, a house on Dr. Kalinkov Street was searched. Two men, aged 36 and 32, and a 19-year-old woman were arrested on the spot. During the arrest, one of the men attempted to escape and throw away some of the narcotics, but his actions were thwarted by uniformed officers. During the subsequent procedural and investigative work, envelopes with crystalline fentanyl and a grassy mass were found and seized in the house. marijuana, as well as the amount of 25,000 leva. The approximate weight of the drugs found is about 2 kg.

Following a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the 36-year-old man was charged and a detention measure was imposed on him for a period of up to 72 hours.

1,025 fentanyl pellets and over 250 grams of fentanyl powder, nearly 20 grams of cocaine and about 14,000 leva were seized by uniformed officers of the capital's Eighth Police Department during another operation against drug distribution in Sofia. A 58-year-old dealer known to the police was detained. On August 5, information was collected that he was preparing to remove and hide the drugs he kept in an apartment in the "Druzhba" residential area. In order to prevent the drugs from being taken out, the police organized surveillance in the area and a little later the man was detained. During the subsequent procedural and investigative actions in the apartment he lived in, 1025 fentanyl pellets, a plastic container with a brown powdery substance, paper folds and a bag with a white powdery substance, an electronic scale and numerous self-adhesive polyethylene bags were found and seized, as well as about 500 grams of a white substance with a granular structure and nearly 14,000 leva.

The man was detained with a police measure for up to 24 hours. After a report of the materials at the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, he was charged and a measure of “detention in custody“ for up to 72 hours was imposed. An investigation is underway.

During the police operation, officers from the First Police Department stopped a car driven by a 25-year-old acquaintance of the police. The drug test showed a positive result for cocaine in the driver. During the subsequent searches of the car and the apartment occupied by him, over 103 grams of cocaine were seized.

Officers from the Seventh Police Department seized about three hundred grams of marijuana. A Dutch citizen was detained for distributing drugs in the capital. The police actions were taken yesterday at around 5 pm in the area of the residential area “Studentski Grad“. At the time of purchase and sale, officers from the Seventh Police Department detained a client and a dealer. After conducting procedural and investigative actions in the car driven by the 27-year-old Dutchman, about 300 grams of marijuana, divided into doses, were found and seized. The case is ongoing.
