A law clerk was charged with property fraud. The detainee is 36-year-old Nanyo Turlakov.
The man's name became known after 80-year-old Nikolina Peneva, who was placed in a home for the elderly in Kazanlak, stated that he took her property. They were returned after the case was announced by the Minister of Justice Georgi Georgiev.
Today, Nanyo Turlakov is facing two charges. The first is that, in complicity with another person, they threatened a 57-year-old man with murder in order to sell the property. In 2024, the victim filed two civil lawsuits against Turlakov and his wife, for which lawsuits were filed. When he found out about the cases filed, Turlakov consulted on how to terminate them. He understood that this could be done if the 57-year-old signed waivers of the claims. For this reason, he and his accomplice decided to force him to do this.
On 06.08.2024 in the city of Kazanlak, Turlakov and his accomplice met with the victim, threatened him with murder and inflicted minor bodily injuries on him. Thus, they forced him against his will to sign the applications to withdraw the cases. On the same day, Turlakov and his accomplice also forcibly took away the victim's mobile phone.
The accused Nanyo Turlakov has been detained for a period of up to 72 hours by order of the supervising prosecutor. The Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office is about to file a request with the court for a preventive measure of "detention in custody" against him. Investigative actions are being carried out in the case, related to bringing to criminal liability also the accomplice in the acts.
The Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office is also conducting investigations into other pre-trial proceedings for crimes related to documentary fraud with real estate, in which Turlakov's involvement is established.
