The Sofia City Court is considering the measure of 21-year-old Viktor Iliev, who crashed into a bus with his car in Sofia and caused the death of a doctor from Syria, and six others are in hospital with life-threatening injuries, bTV reported.
He arrived at the court in handcuffs and hospital clothes. The footage shows injuries to his face.
After the incident, he has two broken ribs and an arm.
On the way to the courtroom, Viktor did not answer any questions - neither whether he regrets what happened, nor whether he used laughing gas on the evening of the incident.
The questioning of witnesses continues. The expert examination is expected to show how fast the driver was driving. The young man has been charged with causing death by negligence.
Earlier, our team contacted Viktor Iliev's mother, but she refused to comment.
There is no change in the condition of the injured. Three are in the Military Medical Academy, all of whom are in danger of death. The condition of those admitted to “Pirogov“ is also serious. Regarding whether there was laughing gas in the car, as the driver's cousin told bTV - it cannot be proven from the driver's tests, because the breathalyzers can only detect narcotics and alcohol.
The prosecutor's office will request permanent arrest for the 21-year-old driver.
