The 21-year-old youth accused of the murder in Parvomay had a short-term relationship with the daughter of the 44-year-old victim. This was announced at a joint briefing by the Plovdiv District Prosecutor Vanya Hristeva, the Director of the Main Directorate of the “National Police“ Chief Commissioner Zahari Vaskov, the Director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Plovdiv, Senior Commissioner Stanimir Kaloferov, the supervising prosecutor in the case Dilyan Pinchev and the Head of the “Criminal Police“ Department in Plovdiv, Commissioner Georgi Tashev.
From the evidence collected so far, it has been established that on August 18 at around 4:20 a.m., the man entered the victim's home after jumping over the fence. At the same time, the 44-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son were in the house, sleeping. The woman woke up to a dog barking and opened the front door of the house. The perpetrator was at the front, entered and stabbed her in the neck. The woman died on the spot from blood loss.
The perpetrator left the house immediately, headed to the outskirts of Parvomay, where he had left his car and traveled in the direction of Sofia.
At 4:30 a.m., the woman's son woke up to the dog barking and noise, got up and found his mother dead. He reported the incident to the Parvomay District Office and police and medical teams arrived on the scene.
The perpetrator has been identified – A 21-year-old man who was detained the same day at around 4:30 p.m. in Sofia in a dormitory in Studentski Grad, said Prosecutor Hristeva. According to her, the most likely motive is personal. The perpetrator visited the victim's home at the beginning of the year, and met her daughter, with whom they had friendly relations. The relationship lasted for several months, after which they separated.
The detainee has been charged with premeditated murder, which carries a prison sentence of 10 to 20 years.
