Increased police presence in Botevgrad, after this evening, people from the Roma neighborhood set out to search for and take revenge on those they consider drug dealers, NOVA reports. It all started yesterday, when a 30-year-old drug addict died of a heart attack, according to medical records. However, according to locals, the cause of death was low-quality drugs.
The Ministry of Interior's Office - Sofia Region confirmed to NOVA the increased police presence. Reinforcements from neighboring police stations, the Gendarmerie, and specialized police forces have been sent to the scene.
Around 7:30 p.m. this evening, people from the neighborhood ransacked the house of the dealer they believe is responsible for the death of the 30-year-old man. It is located in the nearby village of Trudovets. After not finding him there, they returned to Botevgrad and began touring the city in search of the homes of other people they believe are drug dealers.
At this stage, there are no reports of injuries. According to the Ministry of Interior, the situation in Botevgrad is under control.
