The beating of the director of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Regional Office in Ruse, Nikolay Kozhuharov, inflicted by four young men, and the questions that have arisen in the case is commented on by security expert Tihomir Bezlov and lawyer Lyudmil Rangelov in “Hello, Bulgaria”.
Rangelov commented on the words of the Minister of Internal Affairs Daniel Mitov that since the court has decided to keep those arrested in the case in custody, this is sufficiently indicative of their actions. According to the lawyer, “this reasoning is absolutely not true”.
He asked whether the pre-trial proceedings should not be moved, because “on local soil, dependencies and influences, especially when it comes to a high-ranking state official, are so great that the chances of objective clarification of all circumstances decreases”.
Bezlov pointed out that there was no official press conference to provide details on the case. He added that there were discrepancies and contradictions in the story of what exactly happened. The expert also pointed out that there is a division of positions in society on this topic.
The lawyer said that the issue is about the camera recordings, which can show what exactly happened, even if the quality of the video is not very good. He also said that the cause of the conflict is of utmost importance.
Bezlov also said that the information is contradictory.
