The Russian state has privatized the film studio “Soyuzmultfilm“. The company confirmed the deal to RBC, but did not disclose details, noting that it “contains restricted and non-public information“.
As the media outlet specifies, the sale of the studio is mentioned in the explanatory note to the draft amendments to the law on the federal budget for 2025. The document notes an increase in revenue from the sale of state property by 1.12 billion rubles. This is primarily related to the privatization of JSC “Kinostudio “Soyuzmultfilm“.
At the end of 2024, “Soyuzmultfilm“ reported revenue from 624.3 million rubles and a net profit of approximately 170 million rubles, the publication notes.
