Cultural Diplomacy as Part of Today's World - 1

The third day of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum will examine how cultural diplomacy - in the fields of arts, education, heritage, media and creative industries - helps shape a shared future when traditional diplomatic channels are challenged.

Reflecting on regional and interregional experiences, the panelists explore how “thinking together, acting through culture” can bridge divisions, build trust, counter misconceptions, and foster more inclusive and sustainable forms of international cooperation in broader efforts to manage uncertainties.

The centenary of the 1926 Baku Congress of Turkology offers a unique opportunity to revisit the foundations of modern Turkology and early efforts to harmonize linguistic and cultural understanding across the Turkic world. With the recent approval of a common Turkic alphabet and UNESCO’s declaration of December 15 as World Day of the Turkic Language Family, this moment underscores the continued relevance of shared language initiatives. This panel brings together scholars and policymakers to reflect on the enduring legacy of the Congress, from alphabet reform to today's initiatives within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), and to explore linguistic cooperation, cultural identity, and contemporary institutional efforts shaping today's Turkic integration agenda.
