We can only emerge from a crisis with a clear national goal and unity, said President Rumen Radev last night at the eighth edition of „Christmas" in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture, BTA reported.
The Christmas concert is organized by the Yordan Kamdzhalov foundation.
„Dear Mr. Kamdzhalov, I would like to express our deep gratitude to you, to your foundation, to these incredible musicians and choristers and, above all, to our wonderful Bulgarian children for the holiday that you gave us tonight. A true celebration of Bulgarian culture, of boundless Bulgarian talent and spiritual elevation“, said Rumen Radev.
The deeper the crises – political, social, economic, military, I think the more we need to talk about culture and produce culture, because we can only emerge from a crisis with a clear national goal and unity, and that is only possible when our society is united around spiritual values shared by all, said the president. It is culture that builds these values, it is culture that is the most important unifying element in our society, the head of state added.
I want to congratulate you on going beyond this noble mission, because just as freedom, peace and democracy are not a given and each generation must win them back, so each generation must touch, study and immerse itself in the vast Bulgarian spiritual space, the head of state said.
By tradition, the concert featured the oratorio "Christmas" by the composer and architect Dimitar Nenov (1901-1953).
Tonight, you are not only resurrecting a brilliant Bulgarian - architect, composer, pianist, public figure, but you are also working and making efforts for the most important - for continuity in our culture, Rumen Radev also said.
