A search team has located the crash site of a DB-3 bomber in the Primorsky Krai of Russia, along with its crew, who died during the Great Patriotic War in the Anuchinsky district.
This was reported on the team's Telegram channel.
“During a field mission, the exact location of the crash of the DB-3 bomber, which we had been searching for for two years, was located and established,“ the statement said.
A crater from the plane's crash was discovered during the investigation. Fragments of the skin, engine and other parts of the plane were found at the site. The remains of the crew are in deep water.
“The recovery of the crashed aircraft is planned for Sunday, November 23. A memorial sign with an information plaque will be placed at the site on the same day,“ the team noted.
In August 2024, the team announced that it had discovered the crash site of the DB-3 bomber, which crashed in September 1941 in a swampy area.
