Popular American singer Lily Allen has admitted that she has sought treatment for her shopping addiction, writes the Daily Mail.
“I shop like crazy, like I'm a billionaire“, says the 40-year-old star.
Allen says she decided to seek treatment after repeatedly buying expensive cars, handbags and diamond and emerald rings.
For the past four months, she has been undergoing eye movement desensitization therapy (EMDR) to deal with her spending habits.
According to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, EMDR helps people heal from past experiences that are affecting their mental health and well-being, and process negative images, emotions, beliefs, and bodily sensations associated with traumatic memories.
Allen said her life has changed since she saw a doctor.
In late 2024, Lily Allen split from her 50-year-old husband, “Stranger Things“ actor David Harbour. Actress Millie Bobby Brown then accused him of harassing her on the set of the series.
