Annette Dion, the last of the Dion quintuplets, who were the first of their kind to survive infancy, has died at the age of 91, the “New York Times“ reported, citing a family representative.

According to the source, the cause of death was Alzheimer's disease.

“She was the first to crawl, the first to learn her name and the last to die. And like her sisters, she resented being used as a publicity stunt“, the article notes.

The Dion quintuplets were born on May 28, 1934, in Ontario, Canada. They made history as the first set of quintuplets to survive infancy. The sisters gained worldwide fame within hours of their birth, becoming a sensation and even a tourist attraction.

Emily was the first of the sisters to die, at the age of 20. Sixteen years later, Marie was hospitalized for depression and died at the age of 36, and Yvonne later died as well. Cecile died in August 2025, leaving Annette as the last of the famous five.

In November, two of the most famous twins in show business - dancers, singers and actresses Alice and Ellen Kessler - died at the age of 90. They became one of the most prominent German artists and performed on stage for over 60 years, including with Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire and Harry Belafonte. In addition to Germany, the Kessler sisters were particularly popular in the United States, France and Italy.
