The most popular modern professional golfer Eldrick Tonto “Tiger“ Woods turns 50 today.
Born on December 30, 1975 in Cypress, USA, the American is considered one of the greatest athletes in history.
He is in first place in PGA Tour victories (82, tied with Sam Snead) and is second in “major“ tournament wins (15), behind only Jack Nicklaus.
Woods is one of the few players to have achieved a “Career Grand Slam“ (winning the four most prestigious tournaments at least once), having done so three times.
In 1997, he became the first black player to win The Masters, changing the demographics and popularity of golf worldwide.
After a series of back injuries and personal problems, he made one of the greatest comebacks in the sport, winning the “Masters“ in 2019 at the age of 43.
In 2021, he suffered a serious car accident that seriously injured his legs. However, he continues to participate in select tournaments and develop business projects through his TGR brand.
In 2024, Woods also launched his new clothing and equipment line called Sun Day Red, in partnership with TaylorMade.
