There should be more honesty in politics. This is the most important thing. To say what you think and do what you say. This is what the chairman of "We continue the change" Assen Vassilev said in "Bulgaria's Choice: Portraits of Power" on Nova TV.
"For me, the most important thing is whether I am effective. And I think I am effective as a politician. You saw that the philosophy of public finances changed. Bulgaria entered Schengen and the eurozone. This happened with some budgets that allowed incomes to rise. This happened while maintaining the debt-to-GDP ratio. We saw that Bulgaria may not be in last place in the EU," he added.
The PP chairman said that he entered politics because he cares about Bulgaria. "I was tired of being last in everything," he added.
The first lie about me, which in 2022 was paid for quite generously in the tabloid press, is that I am gay. And I am not. But the Bulgarian population believes it because they have been irradiated with this for several years, Asen Vassilev pointed out.
He also stated that he had received four threats, the most serious of which was that he would never see his parents again. Vassilev did not specify from whom he received the threat, but explained: "Let's say that my parents have been living with my sister in Germany for about two years".
The other threat to him is related to the stricter control of the Bulgarian Anti-Terrorism Agency (BFSA) over "Kapitan Andreevo".
Assen Vassilev also specified that at the moment there was no room for love in his life because he was not strong enough to do what is happening to the people he loves.
