It's Holy Tuesday! - 1

According to tradition, Holy Tuesday honors the Holy Virgin.

In the past, during the Holy Week following the Resurrection of Christ, women would re-paint eggs and distribute them. According to ancient tradition, distributing red eggs protected the souls of the dead from reincarnation. During Holy Week, no weddings are held, as these are holidays dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ and no other celebrations are held. There is no fasting.

During Holy Week, saints are blessed: on Monday, the apostles, on Tuesday and Wednesday - the Virgin Mary, Archdeacon Stephen and St. Andrew. On Holy Thursday, St. Apostles John and James are blessed, on Good Friday - St. Apostle Peter, and on Holy Saturday - St. John the Baptist. Sunday is called Thomas' Day - the apostle Thomas is commemorated, who did not believe in the resurrection of Christ until he saw him himself and felt his wounds from the nails on the cross. When Jesus appeared to him, he said: "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed".

Christians greet each other with "Christ is risen" until Pentecost, when the Church of Christ was born.
