The contest "Miss Bulgaria" will take the title from last year's winner Elizabeth Kravets, FOCUS reported.
The reason for this is that she was involved in "activities that conflict with the values of the organization".
The news was published on the organization's official Facebook page.
The position says Kravets' actions tarnished the pageant's reputation and the organization suffered damages "damaging its business relationships." both with long-standing and new partners.
The title would now be taken by first runner-up Iliana Borisova: "We have full confidence in her ability to represent our organization with grace, dignity and in accordance with our values,", the official announcement said.
The organization states that the decision was not taken lightly, but was aimed at ensuring fairness, honor and a positive presentation of the contest.
Elizabeth Kravets won the contest in 2023. She was chosen among a total of 20 applicants. The 18-year-old girl from Varna has Ukrainian roots.
