Plovdiv Metropolitan Nikolay and Western and Central European Metropolitan Antony are visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Bulgarian Patriarchate announced, reported plovdiv24.bg.
With the blessing of His Beatitude the Antiochian Patriarch John the Tenth and by decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate (BOC-BP), on June 15 (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m., the first holy liturgy in the Bulgarian language will be celebrated in the temple of the Antiochian Orthodox Church “St. Annunciation" in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
About 3,000 Bulgarians live in Dubai, and through the Bulgarian embassy in the UAE, a year and a half ago, they expressed their desire to establish a Bulgarian church community.
Along with the bishops, the official delegation includes Ivan Yordanov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to the United Arab Emirates, Archimandrite Maxim, Priest-Economist Alexander Georgiev, Archdeacon Iliyan Alexandrov and psalters from the Metropolitan Choir “St. apostle Herm".
