Swimmer Petar Stoychev successfully swam 38.1 km from Northern Ireland to Scotland. He himself announced this on his Facebook profile, BNR reported. The achievement took him 9 hours and 56 minutes.

"It was a very tough swim, the water temperature varied from 12.9 to 13.4 degrees. I became the 144th person to successfully swim across the North Channel, and entered the prestigious club of those who have done it in under 10 hours, in which there are only 10 other people in the world," Stoychev wrote. "Six of the Oceans Seven marathons have been conquered, only one more remains - the Tsugaru Strait in Japan," added the swimmer.
