Madonna will fund a theater project for young people, she herself announced at the celebration of the 66 his birthday in Pompeii, reported the Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
While exploring Pompeii with the director of the archaeological park, Gabriel Zuchtrigel, Madonna met a group of teenagers from the Sogno di Volare, or "Dream of Flying" project. For him, hundreds of young actors performed comedies adapted from Aristophanes, starting at the amphitheater in Pompeii and then performing in other Italian theaters. Madonna announced that she would finance the project for one year – with around 250,000 euros.
"This project, generously supported by Madonna, is strategic for Pompeii because it targets the people who live in this beautiful and complex territory, especially the youth," said Zuchtrigel. He noted that many of the children involved live in poor southern cities where dropout and unemployment rates are higher.
Zuchtrigel announced that the production, financed by the Madonna Foundation, will be on the stage of the "Teatro Grande" in Pompeii in May 2025
