Brother Zdravko filmed a rare natural phenomenon

"The Boaz" in our country, this is what we call the cold air mass descending from Strandzha towards the sea and most often covering the southern part of the Primorsko peninsula.

Such a comment was made by the winner of the first season of the reality show "Big Brother" Zdravko Vasilev writes plovdiv24.bg about the photos he uploaded to the social network Facebook.

In the footage, a fog can be seen hanging over the seaside town - although usually fogs are a characteristic phenomenon of the autumn and winter season.

The explanation:

Sea (or coastal) fog is a meteorological phenomenon caused by the temperature difference between land and sea. In the morning the sun heats the land and the warm moist air above it is blown over the cool sea by the coastal wind. Because the surface of the sea is still relatively cold, it cools the air just above it, causing it to condense and create fog. As the morning comes, the sun usually "burns" the sea fog quite quickly.

This phenomenon rarely occurs in our latitudes, but it is known on the coasts of Turkey, Spain, Great Britain, and the USA.
