October 9, 1967: Ernesto Che Guevara was executed in Bolivia VIDEO - 1

On October 9, 1967 in Bolivia has executed the legendary revolutionary Ernesto “Che“ Guevara.

He was born on June 14, 1928 in Rosario, Argentina to a wealthy family of aristocratic descent. Throughout his life, he suffered from asthma attacks, which, however, did not stop him from actively playing sports during his youth. In 1948 he studied medicine in Buenos Aires. During this period, Che Guevara liked to ride a bicycle and a motorcycle, with which he traveled in Argentina and Latin America. In 1952, he published his book “Motorcycle Diaries”, in which he described his meetings and his impressions of the local population of the continent.

In 1954, during his second tour of Latin America, Che Guevara witnessed the coup in Guatemala against Guzmán, organized by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). This changed him and he began to organize resistance, became a Marxist, settled in Mexico, where he met the Castro brothers. After the success of the Cuban revolution, he was minister of industry, carried out agricultural reform and set a personal example through voluntary work.

Until 1965, Ernesto Che Guevara was the face of Cuban diplomacy, but he did not share and distanced himself from the politics of the USSR, which led to disagreements with Castro. Due to their differences, “Che“ decided to leave Cuba and turned entirely to the revolution, going to Brazzaville (now Congo), and subsequently settled in Bolivia, where he organized armed resistance.

On Sunday, October 9, 1967, the organizer of the Bolivian guerrilla movement, Ernesto Che Guevara, was captured by army units after a bloody battle in an inaccessible area.

The wounded Che was brutally tortured and shot, and his body was disfigured and exposed for photographs by journalists. The place of his grave, where he was buried with the bodies of several other partisans, was leveled with the ground, and asphalt was laid on top.

His hands were cut off and taken to the capital, La Paz, for fingerprinting

Only in 1997 were the remains of Che and his comrades discovered, transferred to Cuba and buried in the city of Santa Clara.
