A village mayor in Russia's Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug opened fire over a sex scandal with his 12-year-old daughter and was detained, the Telegram channel Mash reported.
According to the channel, the man first shot several times into the ceiling of his daughter's 15-year-old boyfriend's house, and then walked around the village with a 7.62-caliber "Tiger" rifle. A local police officer noticed him in this state and asked him to calm down - in response, the ruler opened fire.
Security forces arrived at the scene, and the mayor fled to a friend's house and started shooting from there. He was soon detained. The man faces up to 15 years in prison on three criminal charges.
According to preliminary data, the employee was drunk. During the interrogation, he said that he regretted what he had done and was remorseful.
