The home of TV presenter, actress and model Paris Hilton in Malibu has been completely destroyed by the fire that swept through Los Angeles County, California, the TMZ portal reported, citing its sources.
According to their information, the actress's house burned to the ground. Hilton did not live there permanently; it was one of her many properties, the media outlet notes.
The total area of the fires in Los Angeles County has reached almost 11 thousand hectares, according to data from the California Fire Department. The fire destroyed more than 1,000 buildings and killed at least five people. More than 175,000 electricity customers in the area were left without power.
Local authorities requested assistance from firefighters from neighboring counties, and emergency services from Washington, Oregon and Nevada were also sent to help. However, the fire has not yet been extinguished. Strong gusts of wind remain in the area of the fires.
As a result, as noted by the television company CNN, the number of fires has increased to six. According to forecasts by the consulting company AccuWeather, damage and economic losses from the fires will amount to 52-57 billion dollars.
