Nutritionist Gabriel Moltern advises adding turmeric to coffee. In an interview with Metropoles, he pointed out five health benefits of this popular spice.
According to Moltern, turmeric protects cells from oxidative stress and boosts immunity. It stabilizes blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Also, the spice added to coffee will be beneficial for people with inflammatory bowel diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, the doctor noted. In addition, it reduces the risk of developing heart and vascular pathologies.
However, Moltern warned that despite all the benefits, turmeric also has contraindications for use. Among them, he highlighted the periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding, gallbladder problems, as well as taking anticoagulants - drugs that affect blood clotting.
