The wife of the King of Great Britain, Camilla, almost became a victim of sexual assault in her youth. This was reported by the newspaper “The Times“, citing excerpts from the book “Power and Palace“ by journalist Valentine Lowe.

The author noted that he was informed about the incident by the former director of communications at the City of London, Guto Harry, who in turn learned about it from Boris Johnson during his term as mayor of the capital. According to Harry, the then Duchess of Cornwall Camilla told Johnson the story in late 2008 during an audience at her London residence, Clarence House.

“Boris was absolutely in awe of her“, Harry said. “They obviously got on well. He was literally shouting how much he admired her and liked her. But they had a serious conversation about how she had been the victim of an attempted sexual assault when she was a schoolgirl. She was on a train to Paddington, she was 16 or 17. Some guy had gone too far”.

As Harry explained, the mayor naturally asked what happened next, to which the duchess replied: “I did what my mother taught me. I took my shoe off and kicked him in the scrotum with my heel.“ Harry added that Camilla "kept her cool enough to get off the train at Paddington," find a police officer and point out her attacker, who was arrested at the scene.

As the publication notes, the outcome of the hearing was the mayor's decision to open three centres in London to help victims of violence. "She officially opened two of them. No one asked where this interest and this commitment came from. But it was all about this incident," Harry said.
