In the dramatic days of budgets and protests that have covered almost all of Bulgaria, the question is being asked more and more insistently – and what comes after them? We would have to wait for the outcome of the protests to answer this question, but it seems to be predetermined by the mass movement and motivation – resignation is inevitable!

And here begin the assumptions, suggestions and interpretations, based on the interests and preferences of those expressing them in ideological and geopolitical terms.
All of them acknowledge that President Rumen Radev will be a key figure in the restoration of Bulgaria after the Peevski – Borisov clique, which ruled for more than a decade with lawlessness and corruption. And as is fitting…, the attacks and accusations flew towards him from a classic crescendo to uncontrollable old woman's hysteria by venerable political scientists and university professors.

President Radev has been accused of everything - a Kremlin man, a Russophile, an enemy of Europe, etc. etc.
And why?
Because he allowed himself to tell the factual truth about Crimea at that time, and today, and because he steadfastly stood by his understanding that the war in Ukraine has no military solution. In this direction, it has been the subject of countless attacks over the years, but the main judge and pillar of truth is TIME, and it undoubtedly validates the position of President Rumen Radev.

On Friday, December 5, 2025, the White House published the US National Security Strategy, in which the main postulates for Europe and the war in Ukraine overlap with those of President Radev.
What were the main arguments of the President of Bulgaria:

1. The war in Ukraine has no military solution;
2. Escalation only deepens the humanitarian and military crisis;
3. Emphasis on military supplies prolongs the conflict without a real prospect of victory;
4. Bulgaria should not be involved either through troops or through active military support;
5. Only diplomatic negotiations supported by the international community can lead to sustainable peace.

According to President Radev, the biggest risk facing Europe is the expansion of the conflict. For Bulgaria, security, peace and political stability remain a priority.

In 2022, President Radev's position was criticized, ridiculed and often presented as “uncomfortable“. The political climate at that time was not conducive to sober assessments. Radev was accused of defeatism, of “pro-Russian bias“, of “not singing in chorus“. But over time, it was his position that began to come closest to the line that today dominates think tanks in Europe and the United States: the war cannot be won on the battlefield.
And this was categorically confirmed in the new US National Security Strategy published on Friday, which moves from the euphoria of a world hegemon under Biden to the geopolitical sobriety under Donald Trump.

In this Strategy, the new geopolitical framework was formulated without emotion:

• The United States will not participate in a conflict without prospects;
• Ukraine will not regain all its territories by force;
• Europe must bear the brunt, because the war is a “European crisis“, not an American one.

The new US National Security Strategy (2025) emphasizes three priorities:

1. China — absolute strategic focus;
2. Europe — to stabilize itself, without American financial miracles;
3. Ukraine — a conflict that must end as soon as possible.

This is the American equivalent of Rumen Radev's thesis. Realism defeats rhetoric. It is now clear to everyone that President Radev's position has stood the test of time. And above all, his thesis that "war has no military solution", marginalized at the beginning by our native Euro-Atlantics, is the diplomatic basis for the talks led by the US, Russia, and now in Europe.

From the very beginning, Radev defended the position that Europe's strategy to impose peace on Russia from a position of force is at odds with reality and will lead to even more victims, destruction, and lost territories.

Time has confirmed this position.
Rumen Radev has proven himself as a statesman who refused to turn a blind eye when everyone preferred conformism to the truth encoded in historically conditioned logic.

And in the context of today's crisis in Bulgaria, the understanding that our country needs a statesman is becoming more and more necessary. A statesman who stands up for his principles and understandings for the good of the country. Who is not dependent on mercantilism, conjuncture and sanctions, who is not servile and servile in concealing his complexes on the international stage, who stoically endures the unfair blows for problems attributed to him, and patiently waits for TIME to show the truth. “Time is in us and we are in time“.

Bulgaria needs the statesman Radev!
