Since February 8, after our congress, I knew that this day would come.
And this fear did not leave me throughout the entire campaign.
The day we wake up and the Bulgarian Socialist Party will not be in the National Assembly. Our 135-year-old party, which was not simply left to the whims of fate, it was crushed, ruined, used and depersonalized.
Crushed because the backbone of entire party organizations was broken, which were forcibly subordinated to the sole will of the new leadership.
Ruined because an unknown face, an unknown voice was looking at us from our brochures, posters and interviews - at our replaced messages, which have nothing to do with the #socialists and the socialist party and idea.
Used because all this was done by the newly elected chairman, who perceived the party as being served on a paternal platter, with which he could do whatever he wanted. He, because the self-proclaimed democrat Krum Zarkov decided that he could revive the principle of “democratic centralism“ and make decisions for the party on our behalf. And, of course, at our expense.
Depersonalized. Because the words we heard were not our words, those of the left. They were ridiculous words, borrowed or stolen from the PP – DB. A foreign party. With ideas foreign to us. We flattered the foreign ones and abandoned our own. And we expelled convinced socialists and comrades from the lists, and others who were part of the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet we flattered and put in front positions.
Today we are on the edge of the abyss. And after a brief and cheerful assurance from the chairman that he will bear responsibility – he is simply not there. He is not among us. He is not in the public space either. So that he can take the blame and the shame he caused us.
Under 100 thousand votes or the humiliating 3 percent. Under the result of several parties – one-day ones. Under the line of respect that Bulgarians and socialists have always shown us.
The only thing the leadership found time for in this short and talentless campaign was to withdraw loans and mortgage our common property. With the clear awareness that it cannot repay these debts, because we appeared as a coalition and we are left without even a state subsidy.
Today I woke up not just with fear, but with horror. That we may not cross the threshold of Positano 20 tomorrow. That this may not be our place and they may give it to someone else.
I say “no“ to this perspective. And “no“ to this leadership.
It is time to save our party. Our BSP.
Therefore - resign immediately! And congress!
And please leave Positano 20 immediately.
