Apparently he has forgotten exactly how he, as finance minister, cut BGN 1.2 billion from the budget for this year. to 400 million. Something we warned about at the beginning of the year. Or how the investment program for municipal projects was recorded in the budget - this happened despite his resistance, thanks to the insistence of GERB leader Boyko Borisov. Or how it was set in motion under the PP government - after GERB supported the mayors who warned that it was slow.
The PP had to do only one thing - to create administrative capacity in the MRRD to manage the program. And they failed in this - they left about 10 people to manage a program with a budget of over BGN 7 billion. Just for example, an operational program with European funding is managed by hundreds of experts.
But as of today, already pre-election, the PP are waving it as their achievement. And they even worry about her. And they think they are making a genius move by creating intrigue between the local and central government. Good thing the program doesn't depend on them.
It will happen. But not because Asen Vassilev as Minister of Finance says one thing, but as a candidate for deputy - another. And because GERB guarantees that in the years to come, for which it is planned, it will be implemented rhythmically, in its full volume of nearly BGN 7 billion.
It doesn't matter which party the mayor is from - because GERB does not divide municipalities by color and everyone knows that. And when we have to protect the local government - we do it for everyone. Not according to the call of Asen Vassilev - that each party protect its mayors.
