Ognyan Minchev: Yes, Russia is weak! Europe will not commit suicide if it supports Ukraine!

The current slogan of hybrid propaganda in Bulgaria is the thesis: Look how strong Russia is! Even Trump and his associates understood this. Only "stupid Europe" is blinded and is preparing to "commit suicide" - "to war with the incredibly strong Russia".

About 2-3 months after the election of Donald Trump, they were quiet - they were waiting to see where things would go. Washington's uncertainty confuses not only its allies, but also its rivals. The current propaganda "landing" of the fifth column in Bulgaria expresses the Center's conviction that Moscow has "oriented itself" in the new situation. The Center's slogan is - an emphasis on the "huge power of Russia". Ah, you, "liberals", once again underestimated Russia, didn't you! Now you will pay - together with the whole "ungrateful" Europe. Why "ungrateful"?

This was commented on "Facebook" by Ognyan Minchev.

Because he gave up on Merkel's stupid geopolitics § C-ie for tireless courtship of Moscow, carried out while the Kremlin is atrocious - in Georgia, in Crimea, in Donbass, in Ukraine after February 2022, in the public sphere of all of Europe, including Bulgaria. Because in Paris, Berlin and Brussels they finally understood that if they abandon Ukraine, Europe will be the next victim.

The fact that Russia is very weak is not refuted by the fact

that it is able to slowly and painfully advance in a battle with a weakened and half-abandoned Ukraine by the West. Ukraine - with a quarter of Russia's population. Ukraine, which until 10 years ago did not have an army. Ukraine, which until a few years ago did not have functioning institutions. The fact that Russia is very weak is proven by the dramatic failure of the huge nuclear power to achieve even the minimum of its strategic agenda with the aggression against Kiev, which has been going on for four years. The fact that Russia has occupied 20-25 percent of Ukrainian territory is not a demonstration of strength, but a demonstration of deep, structural weakness. Such an obvious weakness that Moscow's main rival for the past 80 years - Washington - is making a 180-degree turn (quite adventurous, by the way) and trying to "partner" with the Kremlin.

America embarks on a "partnership" with Russia in two types of situations.

The first type - when Moscow is strong and Washington is weak. This is the case with the "detente" in the 1970s. Then America was struck by the "Vietnam syndrome" and needed time to "take a breath".

The second type - when America is strong and Russia is weak. This is the situation after the collapse of the Soviet Union, when Washington "captured" disintegrating Russia and saved it from further destruction, so as not to find itself in the dilemma of a disintegrating Eurasia with thousands of nuclear warheads.

What do you think, in which of the two types of situations are relations between Washington and Moscow today?

The behavior of the current American administration is not burdened by any principles, values, traditional commitments or sustainable strategic orientations - its behavior towards Europe, Canada, Mexico and the rest of the world is sufficient proof of this.

Why is Trump courting Moscow?

Some think - because he is a recruited agent of influence. It is possible, but not very likely. I think something else is more likely. Trump is courting Putin because he sees that the Eurasian colossus with feet of clay is being swallowed in large bites by the outwardly meek and polite as a panda Empire. Trump is in a hurry so that it does not turn out that the appetizing plots of "real estate" (definitely more valuable than those in central Manhattan) and various other goods have been successfully devoured with a gigantic appetite by the dragon. Appetite comes with eating...

The arrogance with which Trump pursues his goals is repulsive. The price of this arrogance will be paid by Ukraine, Europe, and probably Canada, Japan, and other allies of Washington. However, this does not negate the fact that the White House's behavior is motivated precisely by Moscow's strategic weakness. Maybe you think I'm wrong? Well, go ahead, prove it! Prove that, like in 1972, Washington is weak, and the Kremlin is powerful and at the peak of its capabilities.

Trump will pay for his dangerous for Moscow rapprochement with the Kremlin with the territories and suffering of Ukraine, with the cold-blooded refusal of guarantees of collective security with Europe in NATO, probably - with the destabilization of parts of Eastern Europe. He will do it in order to achieve his main goal - to sit down with Beijing and to displace Beijing as much as possible at the table where Eurasia is served. He will do it entirely in the way that President Xi does it - not through confrontation, but through an embrace and a series of "bargain offers". Trump will not play the "Russia card" against Beijing (just as Kissinger played the "China card" against Moscow) - simply because Washington has no chance of separating Moscow from Beijing - and has never had such a chance.

Trump will want to come to an agreement with Beijing. Wait, he wanted to come to an agreement with Moscow...! We'll see, we'll see who will be at the table and who - on the menu. This whole battle is insanely gambling - as it is fashionable to say, "transactional". We have found ourselves in a brutal and ugly world. Despite everything, two plus two still equals four. And the mythology of "powerful Russia" in the fourth year of its humiliating fiasco in Ukraine cannot deceive even the most naive consumers of hybrid propaganda - including in Bulgaria.

... And Bulgaria must take careful care of itself.

To be a reliable partner in Europe - at least because we cannot change the continent on which we live. To try to secure the most favorable position in the Atlantic partnership - to the extent that it is destined to survive in the current world. To carefully and intelligently assess its national interests in the Balkans.

And to isolate the false sirens of the five-column hybrid propaganda, which are once again trying to make black out of white - and vice versa.
