Mason Greenwood scored four goals as Olympique Marseille cruised to a 6-2 win over Le Havre in the eighth round of the French league. The nine-time champions moved back to the top of Ligue 1, a point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, who drew for the second time in a row on Friday, BTA reported.
Greenwood completed his move to Marseille in the summer of 2024 and led his team to a fifth consecutive victory on Saturday. He scored the first four goals between the 35th and 76th minutes of the match, followed by Robinho Vaz and Michael Murillo.
Earlier, Yassine Quetta had given the visitors from Le Havre the lead in the 24th minute, but Gauthier Lloris converted a penalty ten minutes later for Grewood's first goal and was sent off. The Marseille side easily turned the game around, with Abdoulaye Toure scoring the final goal of the match for a 6-2 win for the hosts.
Le Havre are 16th in the standings with six points from eight rounds since the start of the season.
