Enzo Maresca regrets what happened to his colleague Angelos Postecoglou, who was fired from the managerial position at the English football club Nottingham Forest minutes after the end of the match between the two teams. The Chelsea coach said that unfortunately football is a business in which you either win or leave.
"I haven't spoken to Ange yet. I'm sorry about what happened to him. I've spoken on the subject many times that football is a business and no coach is safe if he doesn't win matches. It's the same for everyone. Again, I'm sorry about Ange," Maresca said, quoted by the DPA news agency.
Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James scored for Chelsea, who lost Malo Gusto to a red card late on. Maresca said he was not worried about it, but he wanted to avoid such performances with such a big lead.
"We could have definitely done better. It's a mistake to get a second yellow card at 3-0, so I hope we avoid such things. But the more important thing is that we didn't concede a goal. I also saw a lot of desire from the players, so I'm happy," he added.
