Yanick Sinner won the title of the ATP 500 hard court tennis tournament in Vienna. In the final, the Italian had a hard time overcoming Alexander Zverev after a 3:6, 6:3, 7:5 turnaround, BTA reports.
Sinner allowed a breakthrough for 1:3 in the first set, after which the German representative took an advantage in the match. The champion in the Austrian capital since 2023 easily returned to the match after winning Zverev's serve at the very beginning of the second part.
In the third set, Yannick Sinner broke his opponent's opening shot for 6:5, then served successfully to win his fourth title of the season. Zverev, who won the title in 2021, suffered his fourth defeat in eight matches against the Italian.
Yanick Sinner is the third tennis player to have been ranked No. 1 in the world and won two titles in Vienna. Roger Federer and Andy Murray have the same achievement.
