Lando Norris won his sixth victory since the start of the 2025 Formula 1 season, after triumphing in a dominant manner in the Mexico City Grand Prix race, sportal.bg reported.
The Briton was literally untouchable by „Hermanos Rodriguez“ and after maintaining his lead at the start, he set a pace that was unbearable for his rivals. At the end of the 71-lap race, the McLaren driver finished with a lead of 30.3 seconds over Charles Leclerc, who finished in second position.
Shortly before the end, the Ferrari driver was caught by Max Verstappen, but managed to keep the world champion behind him, helped by a late virtual safety car, for to equal his best ranking of the season. Verstappen finished third, and Oliver Bearman finished fourth after an excellent drive today.
Like Leclerc, the Haas driver had to defend himself at the end, but from Oscar Piastre, who, however, was unable to find a way past his British rival and remained in fifth place. Behind Piastre, the points zone was formed by Andrea Kimi Antonelli, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, whose race was compromised by a 10-second penalty, Esteban Ocon and Gabriel Bortoletto.
In the general classification after his victory today, Norris regains the first position, which he lost to Piastre after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on April 20. Before the final four rounds, Norris leads with an asset of 357 points and has a one-point advantage over his teammate Piastre, while third-placed Verstappen is 36 points behind the first place.
In the constructors' championship, Ferrari regains second place with 356 points and a one-point lead over Mercedes. The fourth-place Red Bull team is exactly 10 points behind the Black Horses.
The 2025 Formula 1 season continues in two weeks (November 7-9) with the São Paulo Grand Prix. For the fifth consecutive year, “Interlagos“ will also host a sprint race.
