Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his satisfaction with the attacking play of Manchester United, who defeated Wolverhampton 4-1 on Monday in an English football championship match. He said that the team is becoming more dangerous and more effective in front of the opponent's goal.
"We scored four goals and actually had a lot more shots. I think we are improving our efficiency," Amorim said, quoted by Sky Sports.
"If we were to compare last season with this season, our team is creating a lot more chances, threatening the opponent's goal a lot more often and scoring a lot of goals. I am really pleased with that. "In the second half we were in complete control of the game and that was the goal we set ourselves at half-time," added the Portuguese specialist.
In Monday night's victory, United set a club record for Amorim's time in charge. The players had 27 shots on goal against Wolves, the last time they had more against Chelsea in December 2023 with 28. The team's manager at the time was Erik ten Hag.
Bruno Fernandes is one of the few United players who has played strongly under every manager. The Portuguese midfielder scored two goals and made an assist, and since his Premier League debut in February 2020 he has now made 123 appearances in goal (66 goals and 57 assists). Only Son Heung-Min (124) and Mohamed Salah (186) have recorded more in that period.
