The matches of the last 6th round of the main phase of the Conference League were played last night, sportal.bg reported. Half of the round of 16 and the teams that will play the playoffs to reach this phase are now clear.
Strasbourg had secured its qualification before this round, but after another victory it finished first in the final standings. Rakow won its away match against Omonia 1:0 and is also in the top 8. Sparta (Prague) had no big problems with Aberdeen and secured a direct qualification to the round of 16. Also making it to this stage were Rayo Vallecano, Shakhtar Donetsk, Mainz, AEK Larnaca and AEK Athens.
Crystal Palace suffered a setback against KuPS in London. The English side still managed to draw 2-2, but that wasn't enough to secure a place in the top 8 and they will now have to play two more games to reach this stage. Fiorentina also failed to make the top eight. The Italians lost 0-1 to Lausanne and finished 15th in the final standings.
Mainz won 2-0 at home against Samsunspor, who were leaders a few weeks ago. However, the Turks had to settle for a play-off spot.
