Yugo Ekitike extended Liverpool's lead in the 66th minute with a header from Jeremy Frimpong, but Tottenham's efforts were limited to a goal by Richarlison. Spurs even finished with nine men after Cristian Romero was sent off for a second yellow card in added time.
