Anthony Joshua has given Tyson Fury 24 hours to sign the contract for their long-awaited mega-fight. AJ called the Gypsy King a "greedy scumbag" and said he can't wait for them to meet in the boxing ring, bTV reported.
"We can do it right away. No in-between matches", added promoter Eddie Hearn after Joshua's victory over Jake Paul.
The former two-time unified heavyweight champion was expected to have an easy win over YouTuber Jake Paul. The latter lasted 5 and a half rounds, in which he mostly ran. In the end, however, after being knocked down a few times, he was knocked out with a heavy right hand.
"I should have done better. It's a win, but it's not a success. I think my coach expects more from me and I expect more from myself. But what can we do? We can't turn back time. I have to move on and put this behind me. After today, there will probably be a bit of a social media buzz, but for me that's in the past. I can't live off this win. I still have a lot to improve on. So yeah, I'm not happy," Joshua commented.
"Jake decided to move around the ring and I decided to put the pressure on. There are a lot of things I could have done better, 100%. In combat sports, we've seen incredible fighters over the last hundred years, and the expectations we have for ourselves are huge, but I did the best I could."
"So I wanted to knock him out early on, but tonight we saw that Jake had spirit. He had heart. He tried his best, and I take my hat off to him because, first of all, a lot of fighters haven't stepped in the ring against me, and Jake did."
