Nice warmed up for the match with Ludogorets in the Europa League with a significant 4:1 victory against Nantes in a match from the 19th round of the French football championship. Thus, the "eagles" stopped a series of negative results and climbed to 13th place in the standings with 21 points, ten behind the European Zone, BTA reported.
Nice will meet Ludogorets on Thursday in Razgrad, with the French having no chance of reaching the playoffs. The Bulgarian champion, however, has seven points and needs a win to secure at least two more matches in the second-strongest tournament.
Nice secured the victory in the first half, when right winger Mohamed-Ali Cho scored twice, and Sofiane Diop was also on target. Nantes reduced the deficit in the first half through Mostafa Mohamed, but Tom Luchet scored at the end of the match for the final 4:1 for Nice.
Nantes is 16th in Ligue 1, and this place entitles them to participate in the relegation play-offs. However, Auxerre and Metz are only two points behind.
