Atanas Furnadzhiev was re-elected as president of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation during the regular reporting and election meeting in Bansko. He received full support after all 16 clubs present voted for him, and no other candidates were nominated.

During the meeting, the past four-year period was reported as one of the most successful in the history of Bulgarian biathlon. Highlights include Lora Hristova's Olympic bronze medal from Milano-Cortina, Georgi Dzhorgov's first world youth title at Armer 2026, and Milena Todorova's strong performances, which included two podium finishes in World Cup events.

The Federation also noted financial stabilization, as well as an increased presence at the international level through the participation of Ekaterina Dafovska in the Executive Committee of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

The delegates adopted the reports on the main priorities – sports results, financial stability, development of clubs, infrastructure and personnel, as well as the financial report, audit and draft budget for 2026.

A new Management Board was also elected, consisting of: Atanas Furnadzhiev, Ventsislav Alexandrov, Vladimir Iliev, Irina Nikulchina, Milush Ivanchev, Radka Popova, Hristo Miltenov, Pavlina Filipova and Georgi Radkovski.

Furnadzhiev, who took office in June 2022, thanked for the trust and stated that he would continue working on the development of Bulgarian biathlon and building on the successes achieved.

It was decided that the reports of the national teams for the past season would be reviewed in early April.
