Bayern closes in on German championship title after Borussia's blunder - 1

Bayern (Munich) are close to the German championship title after their only pursuer Borussia (Dortmund) lost 1:2 at Hoffenheim today, BTA reported.

The Bavarians are thus leading by 12 points and have a game in hand, and even a draw in their visit to Stuttgart tomorrow will guarantee them the championship title ahead of schedule. To make a comeback at the top, Borussia must win their remaining four games with a goal difference of just over 40 goals plus, and Bayern must lose all five of their games.

Two goals for the success of Hoffenheim, who are already in the "Europa League" zone, were scored by their Croatian scorer Andrej Kramarić from two penalties awarded for handball. Seru Girassi scored for the guests at the end of regular time for 1:1.

The hosts from Hoffenheim were more active for most of the match and logically opened the result from a penalty in the 41st minute. Referee Daniel Siebert was called to the monitor to review the situation when Andrej Kramarić hit. Then defender Niklas Süle, falling, stopped his shot with his hand. After a VAR review, Siebert awarded a penalty, and Kramaric scored for 1:0.

The start of the second half was also for the hosts, who, although without many chances, controlled the events in Borussia (Dortmund)'s half. But in the 87th minute, Seru Girassi received the ball between the two central defenders of the "blue and white" from Hoffenheim and with a diagonal shot from the penalty area sent the ball into the net for 1:1.

In the 4th minute of added time, Siebert awarded a second penalty to the hosts from Hoffenheim, after this time the VAR system signaled him for a handball by Jürgen Ryerson when substitute Alexander Pras crossed. Kramaric left goalkeeper Kobel no chance for the second time and brought success to his team.

Bayer Leverkusen lost 1:2 to Augsburg, although in the 12th minute Patrick Schick opened the scoring for them after a pass from Edmond Tapsoba. But just three minutes later Fabian Rieder equalized for the guests, who also brought them victory in the 7th minute of added time from a penalty. There was also a penalty for Leverkusen, but in the 81st minute referee Benjamin Brandt was summoned by his colleagues responsible for the VAR system and after reviewing the situation he canceled it.

The defeat drops Bayer to 6th place, which entitles them to participate in the Conference League in the new season.

The northern derby between Werder Bremen and Hamburger SV was won by the hosts 3:1, with Jens Stägge scoring two goals for them. At the end of the match, Christian Puertas made it 3:1, and the visitors tied the score 1:1 through Robert Glatzel in the first half. In the last 11 minutes, Hamburger SV played with a man less due to the direct red card of Philipp Otele.

Wolfsburg achieved a very important victory in their visit to Union (Berlin) - 2:1, but despite this they remain in the penultimate 17th place with 24 points, a full 6 behind Borussia (Mönchengladbach), who is first in the rescue zone.
