Real Sociedad won the King's Cup in Spain, defeating Atletico Madrid in the final after a penalty shootout.
Regular time ended with a score of 2:2. The Basques led for a long time in the score, but Julián Álvarez equalized with a beautiful goal seven minutes before the end of regular time and sent the match into extra time.
No goals were scored in both extra times and so it came to a penalty shootout. In them, the Basques were more accurate (4:3) and grabbed the trophy.
Real Sociedad last won the King's Cup in 2021.
