Finnish pilot Kale Rovanperja with Toyota, who led in Rally Latvia - eighth round of the world championship, continues to lead the standings before the final day. The two-time world champion is more than 40 seconds ahead of Frenchman Sébastien Ogier, who has also not competed in any race with Toyota this season.
Latvian Martins Cesks with Ford, making only his second appearance in the elite of the rally, impressed with his third place – just 4 seconds behind Ogier. Towards the end of the last stage yesterday, Tenak (fourth) made a mistake which was probably due to a mechanical problem. In fifth place is another Frenchman - Adrien Fourmo with Ford.
Leader in the championship continues to be Belgian Thierry Neuville with Hyundai, who is currently in eighth place in Latvia.
