Camellia on the scandal: Seir... DJ Marten could make Djokovic happy - 1

The singer of "Crazy about you" Kamelia stated that she did not feel offended by the fact that her song was not played in the hall after the demonstration tennis match between Grigor Dimitrov and Novak Djokovic in Sofia, despite the requests of the guest from Serbia and he sang it acapella.

The Olympic champion and winner of 24 Grand Slam titles failed to hear the tune he has been singing since 2020. DJ Marten said a few days ago that the reason he didn't play the track was that the organizers decided so and he didn't want to spoil the surprise of the after-party, where Camelia was a guest.

"It turned a bit from a show into a seir, typical of ours. I didn't expect such a turn of events. I didn't know it happened in the hall. The original idea was for me to be there and bring joy to Nole, because for 4 years he has shown that this is one of his favorite Bulgarian songs. He could have had every single song of a colleague of mine, but that's how it happened. This once again split society.", the singer said in the program "120 Minutes".

"Once again, in such a good moment - Nole is visiting at the invitation of Grigor Dimitrov for a charitable purpose and a good cause, in the end we are not united, but separated. In my opinion, DJ Marten is professional enough that he could make a house remix and make his guest happy. We are not talking about the different taste of imposing it in the hall and in front of the TVs. It was essential to please the guest who agreed to participate in this show," Camelia is emphatic and added:

"It made me sick. This split after the show put Grigor in a losing position. The spotlight moved away from him and everything went in a different direction. He remained in the shadows."

"Psuedo cultural carriers appeared, yellow-lovers who began to teach the larger group how to live, why to live, in what way to react, what to listen to, why to listen to it and how to listen to it. The fact is that the larger group loves pop-folk. The fact is that there are problems in pop-folk, there aren't any. I read such comments... I'm not angry, it's just that the division in society was big and whether we listen or not listen to chalga. After all, everyone has the right to listen to what they want," Camelia commented.

She still sang Djokovic's song, but at the party in a capital disco. There, Kamelia presented the guest from Serbia and Grigor Dimitrov with a panel with carpet motifs, typical of her hometown of Chiprovtsi.

"It is very important not to lose, not to escape from one's roots. It's not whether fame will hit you, but how it will hit you and how you will bear it. You have to stay true to yourself. This is a challenge for every successful person. I wished them, wherever they are in the world, not to forget that Bulgaria is there and is by their side!", she commented.

Camelia stated that the reaction after the match was expected for the development of society and music in our country.

"When pop-folk came along, no one tried to see the good in it, and no one spoke openly when they had problems so they could come clean. "Crazy about you" and "Fire Girl" Nadezhda Zaharieva wrote them for me. Then poets also wrote lyrics for pop-folk. Then only the vulgarity of this music was seen and they began to denounce it. The chalga became a behavior that went beyond the boundaries of pop-folk. It has become the behavior of society, of certain groups who do not know what they want. To people who, with a computer in front of them, dissatisfied with life, look for fault in the chalga. The blackmail became the norm, even in Parliament. Pop-folk remained music for people who listen to it and look for valuable songs".
